About us

Twin brothers, Alan & Ricky Chan, founded IFS Wealth & Pensions in 2013 as they had a vision of running a highly regarded firm of Independent Financial Advisers that gives good, honest advice.  The firm is now a Chartered Financial Planning firm, which is commonly seen as the gold standard for financial advice in the profession.

Right from the start, they decided that it was not their objective to have a large number of clients, but instead focus on looking after a small number of clients very well and provide them with the very best advice.

As respected professionals in their field, Alan and Ricky are regularly invited to talk to the financial press and voice their opinion about various hot topics within the financial services.

Our advisory team carries over 40 years of experience in providing excellent financial advice to private clients and small business owners.  We specialise in Investment Planning and Retirement Planning.

Chartered Financial Planners

In December 2016, IFS Wealth & Pensions was awarded the prestigous ‘Chartered Financial Planners’ status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), which we have retained ever since. This accolade is widely regarded as the gold standard within the profession. Fewer than 5% of financial advice firms are Chartered and IFS Wealth & Pensions is delighted to join the elite group of firms.

Chartered firms exhibit strong ethics throughout the business and demonstrate their professional commitment by continuously pushing themselves to achieve higher standards.  The end result is that you can be sure the financial advice you receive is of the highest quality.

Our core values

At IFS Wealth & Pensions, we adhere to the CII Code of Ethics as well as all relevant laws and regulations.

As such, we will:

  1.  act with the highest ethical standards and integrity.

We believe that the most important value is our integrity and we will do nothing to compromise it.

  1.  put our clients’ interests first at all times.

We are accountable to you and not a product provider, bank, or insurance company.  This also means that we may have to turn down work if we feel that it is not in your best interest to proceed.

  1.  provide a high standard of service.

As our client, we’ll provide you with nothing less than our best advice and aftercare.  Put simply, we will do what we say we will do.

  1.  communicate using simple and clear language.

We start from the premise that we should not make recommendations that cannot be easily explained or that our clients can’t understand. We’ll always present our advice in a simple and straightforward fashion.

  1.  treat you fairly.

We understand that each client is unique and we’ll listen to your individual needs.  We ensure our processes and procedures do not discriminate.
